Some Things About The Flying Car
The flying car, besides being an automobile is also an aircraft. This type of car can be used as a means of transportation but not on the roads.
The inventor and creator of the first flying car was Glenn Curtis. The car he built however, couldn't actually fly but just just hop. The first person that actually created the car that could fly was Waldo Waterman. The flying car was produced back in 1937 when it also took its first flight.
After World War II almost everybody believed that in the 21st century the means of transportation would be the flying car and almost all the things that were imagined back then seem even today as being parts of a sci-fi novel. Several attempts were made in order to create flying cars that could actually be usable and at one point enter mass production.
One of the most important manufacturers in the car industry began to be seriously interested in creating such a car so they condoned a study to determine whether building a flying car was feasible. After some extensive research and documentation they realized that they disposed both of the technological means and the financial support to create it. So, this time another problem had to be solved, namely the regulatory issues.
What they soon discovered was that building this car would actually be the easy part because the legislatory measures that had to be implemented were a lot more difficult to deal with. Some of the things that were needed involved: air traffic control, laws and regulations regarding the altitude that you could fly at, the monitorization of those that didn't have a license to fly but had a driving license and so on. For all these reasons, the project was put on hold.
In our days we still use the car in order to go to work or to school, that is, until something else is invented. However, if you don't have your own car just yet, you can easily rent one.
